Your Data in NetworkOS

Your proprietary layer — the Records and Files that make the intelligence yours.

Your Data is the proprietary layer of your Workspace — your people, your organizations, your events, your files, your context. It belongs to your Workspace, never leaves it, and is what makes NetworkOS's intelligence specific to you instead of generic. Your Data lives in your Workspace as two distinct things:

  • Records — the people, organizations, and events your team tracks, and how they connect to each other.
  • Files — anything your team brings in as context: reports, rosters, capability statements, briefs.

Both are indexed and searchable the moment they're in your Workspace. Ask Terminal a question, and the answer draws on whatever's relevant — a Record, a File, or both — with sources cited either way.

What you can do with your data

Bringing data in isn't the goal — it's what the data unlocks. Once your people, organizations, and files are in your Workspace, real work becomes possible:

  1. Ask questions and get answers grounded in your world. Terminal answers with your data first. Ask "what research centers are working on autonomous systems that have a history of DoW engagement?" and the answer draws on your Records, your Files, and your team's saved work — with sources cited, so you can follow every claim to where it came from.
  2. Run structured work against it. Agent Skills — configured, repeatable workflows you invoke in Terminal — combine your data with external sources and return results in a consistent, actionable shape. A research run that knows your organizations, your past awards, and your files starts from substance, not a blank page.
  3. Save what you produce. Work generated from your data — a report, a summary — becomes an Artifact: saved, shareable, and part of the knowledge layer the next answer draws on.
  4. Organize it into Missions. When a thread of work needs focus, scope the Records, Files, and Artifacts relevant to it into a Mission — see Missions.
Your data stays yours

Everything your team creates, uploads, and connects is scoped to your Workspace — other workspaces never see it. The one narrow, optional exception is organization sharing to the Platform Library (name and website only, off unless your Workspace opts in) — covered in External Data Sources.
