What's New in NetworkOS – April 2026

A packed month. The Terminal got a complete rethink around how AI conversations run and how you manage them. Studio outputs were rebuilt from scratch. The way you find and create records changed entirely. And dozens of quality-of-life improvements landed across profiles, custom data, roles, and AI behavior. Here's everything:

✨ New Features and Improvements

Terminal / AI

  • Run multiple AI workflows at once. The Terminal now supports multiple tabs, so you can run a research query in one tab, follow up on an earlier conversation in another, and start something new in a third — all without interrupting any of them. Each tab holds its state exactly where you left it, so switching never loses your place.
  • See what the AI is doing in real time. When the AI runs a task, you get clear, step-by-step status updates showing exactly what it's doing at each stage — whether it's searching records, pulling from a data source, or assembling results.
  • Pick up past conversations easily. A history panel inside the Terminal shows all your recent sessions alongside unread indicators for anything new you haven't reviewed yet. Scroll back to find a specific response, revisit an earlier answer, or continue a thread you didn't finish.
  • Start faster. The Terminal is now open by default when you sign in — no extra click, no hunting for it in the sidebar.
  • Clear, structured AI outputs. AI results in Studio now render an improved structured layout with clearly defined sections, an inline record table showing matched entities you can expand and interact with.
  • Workspace-first answers. Web search only runs when explicitly requested, keeping AI responses grounded in your data rather than pulling in outside context by default.
  • Go deeper in your conversations. You can now have longer conversations in Terminal — ask follow-ups, refine what you're looking for, and keep building on the same thread.

Records & Data Model

  • Add records with less friction. Creating people and organizations now requires fewer required fields, so you can capture what you know and fill in the rest later — no more getting blocked by fields you don't have yet.
  • Cleaner, more scannable profiles. Detail record profiles have been redesigned with a more intuitive structure and tighter visual hierarchy. Paired with empty fields now hidden by default, profiles surface what matters without padding the page with blank space.
  • Attach files where they directly belong. From the Involvement & Connections section of any record profile, you can now upload artifacts — documents, reports, AI-generated outputs, reference materials — right where the relevant relationship lives. Add context exactly where it belongs, without extra re-linking steps.
  • Consistent relationship views. The Involvement & Connections section now works identically across all record types — same layout, same interaction model, whether you're looking at a person, an organization, or an event. No more adjusting to a different experience depending on where you are.
  • New profile field types. A Picklist lets you define a fixed set of dropdown options — useful for status, category, or tier. A List lets you store multiple values in a single field — ideal for tags, skills, or anything that needs more than one entry. Both are available when configuring your record schema.
  • Improved text formatting. Text-based custom attributes on record profiles now render with cleaner formatting and better visual consistency. Easier to read, easier to scan.

Permissions & Workspace Experience

  • Role-based experience for Members and Admins. The platform now adapts based on how someone participates in a workspace. Members see navigation scoped to their access, a clean read-only view on records they don't own, and a clear "owned" treatment on records that are theirs — consistently from the command palette through to the record detail page.
  • Find your work faster. The Artifacts and Views pages now include My Artifacts/All Artifacts toggles and a Created By column so users can always find what belongs to them.
  • Clear Data Pack errors. When a Data Pack request takes too long, you now see a plain-language message explaining what happened instead of a silent failure or indefinite loading state. You know it timed out, you can decide whether to retry, and you can move on.

Account & Onboarding

  • Centralized account management. A new Account page gives you a single place to view and manage your profile details — name, contact information, preferences — with a refreshed Profile Menu to match.
  • Smoother new user onboarding. New workspace members now receive a polished, branded welcome email that walks through account activation step by step. Users who arrive at login before finishing setup can recover access through their original invite link — so first login is always smooth regardless of timing.

🛠️ Fixes

We also squashed a bunch of bugs to make your experience more reliable:

  • Studio report outputs now include all expected content — no more responses missing summaries, key takeaways, or sources.
  • Platform library organizations are accessible again across all workspaces.
  • AI conversations no longer get stuck in a "Working…" state after a response has already finished — the interface updates correctly as soon as work is complete.
  • Studio output now renders correctly when opened from inside a full record preview.
  • Members can now save Studio outputs as expected.
  • Tab read status now persists correctly after a browser refresh — tabs you've already seen stay marked as read.
  • Workspace information now loads correctly on the Account Settings page.
  • AI summaries for people records with limited profile data now display gracefully — no blank or broken summary cards.
  • Artifact uploads now complete reliably across all sessions.
  • The artifact upload modal now resets cleanly each time it opens — no more pre-filled state carried over from a previous session.
  • Artifact counts and pagination now display correctly on first load.
  • Creating a new organization now completes successfully when Website URL is left blank.
  • Studio post-save confirmation now appears as a toast notification, not a full-page banner.
  • The AI no longer echoes back your context instead of responding to your prompt.
  • Members with an editor role can now edit custom attributes on records as expected,
  • Data Pack results no longer cause a workflow to loop when the same pack is called more than once.
  • Artifact names now display correctly in search results — raw IDs no longer appear in place of file names.
  • Event dates now display the correct day of the week, and same-day events can be edited without being blocked by a false validation.
  • Artifacts created from the toolbar now correctly save to the active view.
  • The Save Menu now surfaces your active mission at the top of the list where it belongs.
